After numerous conversations with parents, rec associations and middle school coaches, it is our conclusion that youth baseball players need more practice and reps with baseball fundamentals. In today’s time, players are not able to grasp the proper technique on how to field a ground ball, turn a double-play, hold the bat for a bunt, pitch with proper mechanics, throw out a runner from the outfield or use their lower half to hit a baseball. Youth coaches all across our community are doing their best and giving their time, but are challenged with field-time, practice structure and coach to player ratios.
Encounter Baseball Camp was created to help with all of these challenges and be a community partner with rec associations and travel baseball programs. It is our focus and purpose to make sure every player that attends our camps will Encounter a positive experience where they learn the fundamentals of the greatest sport on earth in a fun and structured atmosphere.
Encounter Baseball will host Summer Camps starting June of 2024, led by some of our baseball community leaders that have accomplished careers at the Professional and Collegiate Level. We will be hosting Encounter Baseball Camps at South Charlotte Old Providence Elementary School. All players ages 6-13 are able to attend. Each camp session will be capped to ensure optimal Staff to Player ratios.
Encounter Baseball Camp will allow every player the opportunity to get repetition and practice with all of the major skillsets of baseball. After many requests, we will also incorporate speed and agility sessions every day throughout the week. This is an often overlooked component which allows each player the opportunity to learn the proper technique for increasing foot speed, core strength, and mobility.
